There are several outside forces that can affect one’s memory development and our long term memory and short term memory. As has been found in many other areas, diet is one link to impairing memory. Another well known thing which affects our memory development is the lack of physical exercise. Of course, there are foreign substances we put into our unsuspecting bodies, such as drugs or alcohol, even prescription drugs can have a negative effect on our memory development and is not what most of us want as we mostly look for memory improvement. Injuries or traumatic events can affect memories, as can diseases. Inadequate mental and indeed even spiritual stimulation has long been known to damage our minds, bodies and emotions.

Let’s explore the life stressors in connection with memory impairment and the effect on long term memory and short term memory. If you have a life that is in turmoil on a daily basis, unorganized and over packed with activities, never allowing yourself adequate care, your memory development is certain to develop some degree of suffering. It is surely something that will require some thought and time to repair. You must first take stock of your priorities. How well do you care for your mind and body? Maybe you think a quick rush to the gym will do the trick. The key point to note here is ‘rush’ as this does have an effect on our memory development.

Rushing around is one area where we cause our mental health (which is our memory development) to suffer. Long-term turmoil is not our friend, and rushing is something that can become an unwelcome habit and have an adverse effect on our memory improvement. Some people who crave a smoother, more relaxing routine have to actually be taught how to achieve it because they have become so accustomed to rushing through their day and in most cases are not aware of the effect that this has on their memory development.

There may be more than one area you’ll have to change in your life to obtain memory improvement. One important step to healthy memory improvement function is to get more oxygen to your brain. Proper blood flow and plenty of oxygen are two factors that must not be overlooked if you are serious about your memory development. You can achieve these by learning breathing exercises. This can help clear your mind, give it a boost, and relieve stress. Even if it is only temporary, it is still an important step in beginning your journey to memory improvement.

Another important step to memory improvement and the effect on long term memory and short term memory is eating properly. A well-rounded diet can benefit in many ways, and often the benefits to memory development function are overlooked. The diet can affect the physical health, obviously. But if you aren’t in good physical health, how can you also be in the best health mentally? The mind depends on the body to work at its best for the mind to work well.

What about our living environment? Can a dirty home affect your memory development and have a negative affect on our memory improvement (long term memory and short term memory) desires? Maybe it sounds absurd, but yes, it can. If your senses are constantly subjected to anything negative, it will begin to affect your brain health. A clean home doesn’t just look better, it can increase your happiness and sense of peace, which will in turn calm you and allow your mind and memory development to focus on more productive thoughts.

So what else can have an effect on our memory development and on our long term memory and short term memory? Not only does the sight of your clean home allow improvement in your life, the smell of a clean home can be uplifting as well. So, bring out those candles or potpourri, room sprays, and cleaning supplies! As these holistic activities have critical effects on our memory development and in turn on the qualify of the lives which we live.

A Mattress top is a usually a 2 to 3 inch piece of foam that is the same size as your mattress that you lay on top of your regular mattress to provide a more comfortable nights sleep. There are a variety of foams used for these mattress tops but the most popular type of foam is what is known as memory foam. Although different companies make their own version of memory foam they should all have certain features in common.

The main two features that make memory foam mattress toppers different from other mattress tops is that this material fits to the contours of your body lending support to areas such as your lower back, neck and behind the knee area. It also springs back into shape when all weight is removed from it.

Originally memory foam was first used by NASA and later in hospitals and the health field to help relieve pressure sores in bedridden patience. However, it wasn’t very long before different companies began to see a more widely used commercial use for the general public and different companies began to make their own version of Memory foam. Soon this foam was being used in pillows, chairs and for Mattresses and Mattress tops.

Who Benefits From a Mattress Top Made From Memory Foam?

The truth is almost everyone can get a more comfortable nights sleep having a mattress top made from memory foam. However, these mattress tops are especially helpful for people who are bed ridden as they help to prevent pressure sores as well as people with back, neck and other problems that need to have certain areas of their body given additional support that regular mattresses or mattress toppers simply don’t allow for.

People with back problems who have slept on memory foam mattress toppers have reported being able to get a better nights sleep while experiencing little or no back pain or discomfort and waking up feeling more rested and with less pain.

Various Sizes

Mattress tops come in various sizes for twin, double, queen and king size beds. Memory foam mattress toppers are no exceptions and even come in sizes to fit futons and trundle beds as well. The cost of these Mattress tops varies depending on the size you purchase and the company who makes them.

Where To Buy Mattress Tops Made of Memory Foam

You can purchase memory foam mattress toppers almost any place where mattresses tops are sold but, one of the best places to purchase this product is from Amazon.com. Not only does Amazon offer a wide choice in different sizes of these toppers, but they also offer memory foam by different companies giving you a larger choice than you might find locally.

Since each company makes their memory foam a little differently this will allow you to read the reviews for mattress tops from different companies to find out which ones consumers find the most comfortable and longer lasting.

A good memory foam mattress topper should not only be comfortable and help relieve those aches and pains but, should be durable enough to last 4 or 5 years if made correctly. Reading the reviews and seeing which brands are the most popular will help you make an informed choice about which mattress top might be right for you or your loved one.

So you have forgotten where have you kept your spectacles once again because you will need concentration improvement. You have tried finding it everywhere only to realize there it is dangling on your head. These circumstances not only make you feel a butt of jokes but starts questioning your state of mind. If this continues to happen on a daily basis it can disgust not you alone but everyone around you. Far too many people suffer memory loss but it typically depends on the frequency of forgetting. Today’s lifestyle is so demanding that we have barely anytime for ourselves this often leads to important information or at times generic information slipping thru our brain. To add to the woes the diet that we take barely does anything to replenish our brain Unhealthy habit sans exercises has left us living a robotic life. But unfortunately unlike robots our brains are not fitted with computers and it depends on healthy habits, right diet, concentration improvement and proper exercise to improve memory.

Following are the various ways to improve memory:

One should exercise regularly to keep the mind and body active and attentive. As they say healthy body houses healthy brain. One can also improve memory by keeping the brain active by actively participating in brainteasers and games. One such easy and good game is “Memory” that can be played with a pack of playing cards. The best part about this game is that it can be played alone and with as many as four people. All one has to do is to spread the card evenly on a surface and lift and match the characters. If the characters do not match place the card back to where it was picked up from and wait until after a few chances a match is available and remember where the previous character was laid in the entire bunch of cards. The one who matches more cards wins. Or if you like to play with words try playing scrabble another word game that can challenge your memory and will shake up your vocabulary treasure trove.

These games help improve memory, concentration improvement and physiological functioning. Learning new skills also helps the motor capacity of brain by challenging it. Joining a language school to learn a new language can be quite helpful other than this learning to play new instruments can also be more involving and mentally stressing. Taking the help of technology is also not a bad idea. As more and more computer games are developed one can try to play games that is refreshing and challenging. The coordination it develops between the mind and hand is also great for motor development. Exercise and Yoga helps to keep mind fresh by helping its concentration power to develop thru meditation. It helps our body in two days, first by relaxing our body and second by developing our alert system. The better circulation of blood helps to bring tandem to our brain thereby improving its efficiency.

Relaxation is equally an important element of physical well being for body and brain. As stress causes remembering to become difficult and lose focus. Serious stress related problems calls for a physical examination by a doctor as it can lead to other problem such as insomnia that detoriates mental health and makes memorizing miserable.
Our busy schedule barely allows us to keep sync with our body and brain and leads to serious illness leading to destabilize our memory functions. If our brain is involved in various things the same time it can barely concentrate on one thing and makes for a terrible memory. So in order to improve memory we first need to alter our lifestyle and indulge in good health practices such as regular exercising and healthy eating.

He was worried about his memory as he mentioned me that he always forget important dates and the timings which he fixed to meet with others. He started criticizing himself and considered himself as a dull minded. After a few minutes he stopped talking and mean while i asked him that how much senses we use when we hear or we see?

He stared at me and keep himself quite. I further said when we hear our sensory reflexes from ear send information to brain and when we see our eye sensory neurons can transfer the pictures to our brain. Mostly we cannot use both senses together. For examples sometimes we see dates at notice borad and some times we hear from someone or someone tells to meet him tomarrow at a particular fixed time. After all that we forget.

Now i tell how to memorize it. Take a pen and a piece of paper or your personal diary and start writing the dates and the appointments you have fixed. Now at a time your brain is thinking, your eyes are watching and your hands are writing. As a result your brain receives the same information from multiple senses at a same time and this not only makes you memorize but strength your brain memory. After few weeks he came to me and i was quite surprised to see him very happy and confident. He told that he now memorize things easily by writing it. I smiled and asked how many senses you can use?

Have you ever wished you had a better memory? Do you have trouble remembering important information? So you sometimes you actually worry you’re going senile? Ok, hold it right there. There’s something you really need to know about your mind: in more than a way, it works like a muscle. So if you exercise your mind it will grow stronger and if you let it go lazy, it will get weaker. In other words, there are memory improvement techniques that you can start using right now to strengthen your memory! And the limit of how good a memory you can get is only a combination of how hard you’re willing to exercise and how much potential you have in your mind. But most of us only use a tiny fraction of our potential, so that’s really good news!

You have probably heard about that before, right? How we only use less than 5% of our mind’s abilities, and how even people like Einstein only used about 15%? I should say it actually makes sense, once you realize that brains can be exercised just like any other muscle. Of course, you’ll hardly be able to get a super-powerful mind that lives up to its full potential, but regardless you can achieve almost super-human features by following the right memory improvement techniques: such as remembering phone numbers and license plates without even trying, get really good at mental math, or be able to achieve almost photographic memory. It’s all a matter of practice and perseverance, really.

In case you’re wondering exactly what I mean with “memory improvement techniques”, rest assured it’s nothing complicated. In fact, you’ll be amazed with how simple these techniques are, and how impressively they work. It also makes sense if you think about it: for someone who’s trying to build muscle, it’s all about doing simple exercises in repetitive patters and doing so consistently, right? Well, for building mental strength, it’s very much the same. You just need to learn about some basic exercises, and make sure you stick to them. After a few weeks, you’ll impress yourself with how far you’ve come in such a short while.

Contains about 100 billion neurons, the human brain is a wonder. Every second, your brain receives about 100 million messages (transmitted by different sources) with the ability to sort and send signals to other organs. Your brain is capable of storing billions of times more information than a computer. It is the most impressive, the most complex and powerful organ in your body. Despite scientific invention and discoveries, the brain remains a mystery. However, the brain can experience certain disorders, among which memory loss is the most common. This article details the natural means to improve your memory capacity and concentration.

Some memory problems are resulted from other medical conditions; those conditions must be treated before you can find a complete solution to your memory loss. However, in other circumstances, your memory problem can be resolved by natural means. Here are some effective tips to help you have a better memory.

Train your brain – The brain, like all other muscles, is made to work if you do not use it, you will eventually lose it. Practice it often to help it keep its capacity. If possible, participate in games that can develop your intellect, chess, scrabble, etc. It is shown in several studies that people who during their youth, made advanced scientific studies have less risk of developing amnesia.

Exercise – as in the prevention of any disease, regular exercise is important to improve the functioning of your memory. Your body needs physical activities to function properly. Not only physical activity helps the cells of the brain to assimilate the nutriments they need, but also help them to better eliminate toxins accumulated in your brain.

Make yourself social – Social isolation may decrease your brain performance – Social exclusion can reduce the performance of the brain according to a study conducted by a group of researchers at the San Diego State University. Whenever, make yourself socially active, participate in games, go out with friends, try to learn new things, read and meditate on the Bible, etc. those things, although often neglected, are powerful tools to help you have a better memory.

Sleep well – after decades of controversial, it is now confirmed that sleep plays a positive role on memory concentration. A study by Harvard Medical School has shown a positive link between good sleep and the ability to remains focus. That is, better sleep better memory. People who sleep on a regular interval or before undergoing an exam perform much better.

In addition, if possible, ventilate your home or place of work to promote the oxygenation of your brain cells; this increases 10 to 20% the performance of your brain activities (studies and concentration). Drink plenty of fluids, avoid tobacco and alcohol, which decrease concentration and alertness.

Healthy diet – it is crucial to eat a healthy diet containing foods rich in essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 and DHA (a fatty acid that facilitates the release of neurotransmitters). Other supplements like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium (found in the milk, cheese, bread, vegetables, etc.) and B complex vitamins (found in wheat germ, brewer’s yeast, yogurt …) are necessary to help you have an active brain. Your brain needs a variety of substances (vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids) to function effectively. A Simply lack of these substances can cause an imbalance or memory loss. Hence, the need to consume dietary supplements is crucial for the proper functioning of your memory. However, taking these substances in a diet can be difficult.

In today’s competitive times, students usually tend to focus on improving immediate grades at school rather than improving their learning skills. Efforts to improve immediate grades can only impact the short term studying scenario of a student; where as for success in all facets of life, it is important to improve overall learning skills.

Learning skills can be defined as a cumulative package of skills like time management, self motivation, leadership, goal setting, stress management, memory enhancement skills and all other skills that are a pre requisite to help students excel not only academically, but in other spheres as well. With increased involvement of students in areas like sports, music, and other extra curricular activities, today the stress is not just on excelling academically but also in activities that go beyond the classrooms. This fierce competition both within and outside the classrooms has led to a sudden prominence in problems arising out of low self confidence, lack of focus, over expectations leading to increased stress, weaker memory etc. amongst school students.

By improving learning skills, students can be better equipped to cope with the added pressure and overcome issues that stem directly from growing expectations and the resultant stress. Students can start by preparing a time schedule for themselves that primarily allocates time for all the major activities. An exercise like this will help student balance his/her school activities with the extra-curricular activities. Earmarking time of for all required activities in this manner and prioritizing between activities and tasks results in lesser pressure on the students and prevents them from having to constantly juggle between places and tasks.

The next key to improving learning skills is to keep one’s motivational and confidence levels high. Do not let a single defeat hamper your confidence levels. It is important to keep in mind that success and defeat are two sides of the same coin. Participating with a complete 100 percent zest adds to the total experience and makes a world of difference in the long run.

Yet another important point in improving learning skills is to hone leadership skills. It is important for students to identify early in their lives, the skills that are required to direct and motivate classmates/friends towards a common goal. Working towards a skill like this right from the formative years will continue to prove beneficial for students long after they have stepped out of the school environment. Honing leadership skills will eventually equip students to become better managers and leaders in their professional lives.

For improving learning skills it is also important for students to effectively set their goals. With students performing a multitude of activities these days, they usually lack a ‘single-minded’ focus. Students are invariably stressing on quantity over quality in an attempt to be a ‘master of all’ and are in the process, neglecting the importance of setting goals and working towards them with a single-minded dedication. Therefore, if as a student you aspire to excel in academics and other aspects of life then, taking out time to jot down those goals and making an action plan to achieve the same, should be the very first step.

Time is, and always will be, a valuable resource for everyone, particularly for school children. Good time management skills coupled with a good memory can keep students in good stead. With voluminous course content it becomes imperative for students to enhance their memory and thus improve their learning skills. Eating healthy food, getting sound sleep, engaging in regular exercises for the brain such as puzzles and other games can also go a long way in enhancing memory and overall recall.

Now that you have realized the importance of improving learning skills, working towards it wholeheartedly will result in holistic success. And I am positive, that with the required skills in place nothing can stop you from achieving your goals.

Keep working hard!

If you want to improve your mental concentration, have better mental focus, and enjoy stronger willpower so that you have more success in your life, then the fundamental skill you need to acquire is the ability to control your thoughts so that your mind works for your rather than against you. Brain training through dynamic mental fitness exercises is extremely practical in that it teaches you valuable lessons about aspects of your mind and thinking of which you are currently unaware.

Neuro-sculpting brain exercises require you to control thoughts in a very simple, basic way. Through the small successes you achieve with dynamic mental fitness techniques, you get the necessary experiences that inspire you to confidently expand your efforts until your whole life begins to change for the better. There are many ways to reduce stress; however, using brain training is perhaps the easiest. This particular type of brain training includes relaxation methods such as meditation, brainwave entrainment and other brain training techniques. Brain training can take various forms and the easiest is brainwave entrainment. Using a variety of audio stimulation from isochronic tones to binaural beats, the “brain training” is actually creating certain brain waves in your brain. You simply relax and listen.

Today, more than ever before, you need to keep your brain tuned like a high-performance engine. Whether you are an athlete, a student, a would-be entrepreneur, a solo mother who needs to be at her best, or a baby boomer who wants to stay sharp into the ‘mature’ years, peak performance <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.mybrainharmony.com”>brain training</a> is an absolute must. A little bit of brain training can go a long ways towards better thinking. There are easy techniques for better or more creative thinking, such as brainstorming or just getting a good night’s sleep. The idea here, though, is to train your brain in new habits. It can take some work, but once good habits are established, there is little extra effort involved in your new higher-level of thought.

Another benefit of following memory techniques is that these have great capacity to enhance brain power. In fact, these techniques push the brain to process all that it remembers. Important and beneficial brain training would be to tell yourself the reason on why you want to remember a particular thing and the way you will remember it. The process of remembering a particular thing will work towards stimulating the brain in order to hold the name and extra associations in the brain. Memory techniques can make you solve many problems in a jiffy. All you require to do is to keep exercising with these memory techniques and give your brain power a boost.

However you will be surprised to learn that human brain is very powerful. It has been proved scientifically that both the parts of our brain work efficiently and can hold on to each and every piece of information that we feed to it. Many a times, one is not able to recollect simple things like names of people, things on the shopping list and not to mention other small household stuff.
